Control Bandwidth in linux

How can i set a limit on my eth0.
So the total in/out would not exceed 2mbps.
Im using RedHat linux

try googling for 'linux bandwidth throttling' , the first few searches seemed relevant only for web servers but im sure if you dig a little deeper you'll find more relevant info, ways to adapt it
