Am I the only one that's scared of commitment, thinking the next girlfriend will be better or hotter or nicer? I keep finding that the grass isn't greener on the other side. But I still hold out.

If you feel it's right then don't worry about it or think about it too much. Just let it flow. Nothing to fear.

Instead of a girlfriend you need to stick with booty call friends who aren't looking for committment. The worst thing you can do is have a girlfriend who is thinking she's in a "relationship" and hasn't a clue about your true feelings.

Thanks mardi gras. The thing is I do want to get situated with the right girl, start a family etc. The thought of that is cool to me, that's the dilemma though.

The question is. Does it get better?

For guys that are settled down with a woman, is she the best woman you'd been with or have you compromised on certain things and have learned to deal with it all?

When you meet "the one", you'll know (and love her despite any flaws). In the meantime, be honest with those you are dating.

Exactly, I agree with you. I don't have to date a girl very long to know whether I like her or not. I usually know pretty quick.

I'm picky I guess. I just figure if I'm going to make a commitment one day that she better be something special.

If the thought "The next one will be better" enters your head, then you know it isn't right. You will know when it is right. I new when it was right. It took me until I was 40 to find the right one and considering it is our 2 year anniversary tomorrow, it feels as right today as it did 2 years ago.

yeah me too... I dont know after I broke up with my ex boyfriend and thought that "he is the one"... now I really scared of being commited now... I dont know, is that I feel that I really want to runaway.

well i think everyone has given good advice in these posts...but if you find yourself thinking about "the next girl" then i can tell you, you are NOT happy and this should not be the girl you settle down with.
You will know when you meet the right girl, the one you want to marry and have children with, and you'll know because you won't find yourself thinking about life with another woman...rather thinking about what life is going to be like when you are both old and have grandchildren...
I think about my man constantly and i don't think there is anyone else out there that compares to him...everytime he touches me i get butterflies and knots in my stomach - thats how i know he is "the one" !
Having said that, i didn't say that you couldn't continue to date girls and enjoy their company until you find "The One" ... sometimes people never find the right person and they just end up settling for whoever they are with. I can tell you they don't work and it will make you miserable... be honest with yourself and the girl you are with and hopefully you will find your future wife.

i'm no expert in the dating/married field but i do watch a lot of Opera and Dr. Phil...LOL
