video storage solutions?

    video storage solutions?

    how are guys storing tons of raw video content, are most of you guys using external firewire drives in raid1 with some network attached storage so you have two backups?

            we're at 4 TB here in the office now - with some external drives for shootings on location. and stuff that will not be needed we burn on DVD

                Depending on your editing program, you can save your edit job AND you batch capture lists.

                So that way when you finish your edit job and export to your final version. You can delete your original work files as well as preview files, reducing your project from a 20GB project to maybe a 100 mb wmv file?

                And if you need to re-work it, well u just open your project, open your batch capture and recapture your clips. Your edit job is still there, so it will be as if you never deleted a thing.

                Thats what I and major companies that work on many many projects do.


                Oh and don't forget to save your projects on DVDs and CDs...
