thing about firefox is its really good at blocking shit.
It turns out that some clever people figured out that you could launch popups from Flash, getting around the Firefox default settings.
Fortunately, you can get around it:
1. Type about:config into the Firefox location bar.
2. Right-click on the page and select New and then Integer.
3. Name it privacy.popups.disable_from_plugins
4. Set the value to 2.
The possible values are:
* 0: Allow all popups from plugins.
* 1: Allow popups, but limit them to dom.popup_maximum.
* 2: Block popups from plugins.
* 3: Block popups from plugins, even on whitelisted sites.
Just posted an example of the ease of blocking popups regardless of the code ... but I guess looking into Flash Popups may be a good route
Network Solutions poped one up in Firefox earlier today that I couldnt close without going to Windows Manager. Not sure if its still running or if it was a problem they have now fixed.

Yeah popping up sh*t when the surfer has clearly chosen not to want to see it, should really rake in the signups from that p*ssed of surfer. That's like going to the store and after you have picked everything you want, the clerk adds about $ 50.00 more items in your basket just because he can.

Old thread, but great how-to. I didn't know that.
Disabling plugin popups now.
