    Exit Strategy Optimizations

    Hi,

I am interested in getting some ideas up in the air about what you people do for selling on exit windows from paysites.

Particularly, in seeing whether you believe popping an exit window directly to a paysite (ie: like Oxcash does, where the exit goes to another paysite) or to a splash window of links to many other paysites (ie: like Silvercash).

Right now I'm only getting about 3-5% of my sales from exit traffic and I'd like to improve those numbers as much as I could, if your willing to share examples, please post links.

    Thanks

I guess the best thing to do is probably test both ways and see what worked best.

          Hey BB,

It was actually because of your post I started this thread. Yours deals mostly with percentage and debates on whether we should use exits or not. I was hoping this thread would share what people use on exit windows versus sharing % revenues.

I think we should pop 300 exits & tatoo our url on their ass

Now think about that..you wake up one day with a tattoo on your ass to www.paysite.com/members/

            Think they will sign up?

I don't like to shove things in peoples' faces. My policy on exits has always been to give them options of places to go, if they appeal to them-- not to force them to go anywhere. Then again, I make squat from my exit... ;)

              (http://www.gothicamateur.com/links.html is my exit console.)

I think popping a new paysite is the way to go. I think most of the big affiliate program sites do this, and I think they know what they're doing.

Well, if you pop directly to a site that looks like shit, it wont work well. If you pop to a splash with several links to some hot kickass sites than you will do good. The variables are huge. You would have to test and see what sites work best in several situations.

What works good for one, may not work well for another.

Actually, that's what I do now but that's not what the big programs do. The big programs usually open up a splash page with 30-50 links to other paysites as opposed to a single paysite right away.

I would be interested in swapping exits with smallish paysites.

Sending traffic to nastydollars and making $40 a sale is ok.

But if I am sending some joins and getting traffic to my sites, its like double value.

mail me at matty @ wootwoot.net if anyone wants to trade exits

Try building a page with a few sponsors on it promoting about 10 sites and then narrow it down to the best converting sponsor.

then niche it out and give the surefer options to target the traffic.

it works great and we do about 40% of our sales with many other sponsors or webmasters we swap traffic with.

try out a few differant ways sending them to a full page with one site limits the potential of many joins at least this has been my experience.

there is a reason why most sponsors have the same type of exits

right now, we still owe SexHit a bunch of traffic, so we're exiting straight to them, but normally what works best for us is popping en exit with a bigger than average thuumbail for different niches and a descriptive link below each thumb with a blur console behind that that is a big link table, we have one more exit off the main and a small exit off the blur.

If your're exiting directly to a tour, make sure it loads fast, surfers close most exits much faster these days, but if you can catch their attentuion quickly, it';s going to draw more attention. That's the key is getting their attention and get them clicking your links instead of the little X in the corner of their browser.

Experiment with different chains and strategies and see what works best for your traffic.

I still find it funny our best income from consoles was when I fucked up the code and the console was 404ing but the second console was also set as out 404 page so it just kept looping until they clicked a link...

Well i've seen a few popups that move the window to the extreme right, so the surfer has teh move the box and hten click X..

As a webmaster -- I understand the rationale of doing it that way to give me time to catch the surfer's attention...

As a surfer -- that shit pisses me off.
