Why does it take so long??

just wanted to vent... anyone else ever have similar problems or issues..

why is it when i signup for a freehost, it's active instantly & i can ftp & be online in less than 5 minutes but with a paid host here i am almost7 hours later still waiting for setup!!!!! wtf!! so, i get the ip address, i change the nameservers, ( i know the nameserver change takes 24-48hours), but damn it i ftp to the ip adress & it shows as being sent but when i check to see it i get the parked page!! it's pissing me off.... so, if i got ftp.domain.com but the domain is on the registrants nameserver, the ftp wont work, so i change nameservers to that of the hosting company & now i wait for the change, but technically, i should be able to ftp to the ip address???? right or wrong? i tried the hosts live help.. wait & wait & nothing... fuck, i couldve freehosted & been up & running several hours ago.......

Sounds like you picked a piss poor host.
Typically most will have a virtual account set up near instantly and a dedicated with no special requests almost as fast.

i dont want to do that.. they have a really good reputation to uphold. some people from this board recommended them & i see alot of the people from that host post here frequently too.. so i'm not naming anyone..got to remain professional

This is getting fucking rediculous..24/7 live help my ass--where the fuck are they all.. i go to the chat box on their site..no fucking answer & it's been over a fucking hour.. icq, everyfucking one of them offline..email--fucking waiting still--had i known it was going to take this long i would have hosted elsewhere..goodfucking luck to them when it's time to rebill......almost out of fucking cell phone minutes because of that damn voice prompt fucking recording... all i fucking want is to fucking ftp & be up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Who the hell cares if they were recommended or not. Disclose the info if they are doing a piss poor job.

most paid hosts have (should have) instant account activation even if someone has to manually set it up.....assuming that the host has someone available 24 hours a day.
