CLS or E Class

A new car may be in order soon. I've had a few Mercedes-Benzes and they've been good to me. I'd like a new Mercedes-Benz, would you go for the new CLS, the car they dub as a coupe even though it is a 4 door. Or should I go for the E class?

Coupe is a shape (pillars, lines)...not amount of doors. Expect a new Porsche 4 Door Coupe by the end of the year...and not to far off of that is a BMW X-Coupe which is a 4 door car version of their X5, X3 and soon to be X7.

The Porsche Panamerica is fucking sexy.

But if your going to buy now then definately get the CLS. The E-Class' looks have already grown cold. It looks like a rehash of the old body Lexus GS.

I plan on holding on to this car for a few years so the idea of picking up a CLS at the beginning of a model run sounds good.

The new S class is going to look great but it may be a bit too much car.

I'm going to test the E and CLS AMG models.

The new M5 is killer too, but I'm partial to Mercedes.

Yeah the S is nice, but I don't want or need anything that large. I'm really impressed by the CLS so far. If i were going to get an S, i'd just get a used current model year S 55. I'm looking for something a bit different, I think the CLS offers that.

I think for the price you will be paying for a CLS55 or an E55 you would be better off getting the new M5. It would be cheaper, it performs better than both cars, and overall I think is one of the most solid sedans out there, not to mention you cant argue with the performance (0-60 in 4.5seconds). But thats just my and I'm much more performance oriented than comfort, but I would definitely say if you are shopping around in those leagues dont make a decision until you test drive the new M5.

i would get the cls.. much better resale and no low end model with a v6

if you get the e get the 4matic model since thats the only advantage it has over the CLS

I don't think I could ever get used to the frontend and headlight design on the CLS.
