odd server behaviour

this morning, two of my sites running agSQL & TM3 weren't loading... turns out a lot of the permissions were changed around for both programs in the /cgi-bin and i have no explanation why... my other sites on a separate box with agSQL & tm3 was fine..

left to my own devices, i'm left thinking worst case scenario (hacker, exploit, password sniffing spyware, etc), but there's likely a logical explanation for this...??

anyone have any idea how this could happen?

Ask your host, could be a hacker.

additional information: some file ownerships were discovered changed around as well, in addition to the permissions

i got so paranoid i've changed the passwords of all users on that box
