What's a Google?
"Googol" is the mathematical term for a 1 followed by 100 zeros. The term was coined by Milton Sirotta, nephew of American mathematician Edward Kasner, and was popularized in the book, "Mathematics and the Imagination" by Kasner and James Newman. Google's play on the term reflects the company's mission to organize the immense amount of information available on the web.

Well, since I did some programming back in the early 90's for the US NAVY I had to learn all kinds of acronyms in order to participate in meetings, etc...
Since then, acronymns have been a bit of a hobby of mine... Recent examples include
MAVIS = Model Age Verification Information System
SCAT = Server Content Analysis Tool
HERPES = Huge Enterprise Replication Processing Encryption System
VIRUS = Virtual Information Repository Using Security
So naturally, I had to come up with one for Google after seeing this thread...
Gargantuan Organized Online Group Link Exchange
I couldn't resist...Comment

In middle school I was given this question as extra credit. I remember having to dig through the library to get the answer! If he only knew what Google would have ended up being..
