He must have had some sort of allergic reaction or some shit, I've never heard of anyone getting their whole arm opened up to "Relieve the pressure of the bite". Looks like they removed a whole section of his arm, because if they just opened it up, why would they need that webbing? They'd just sew the incision back up.

It could be skin graft tissue but doctors really do not like using that to often since it gives you extra scaring. Pig skin is often the go to material. Your body takes to it very well and the diamond pattern is to trick your body into creating new skin with a more natural appearance. Over time the diamond pattern will be no longer visable.
