That is the antithesis of dadaism, which is the freeing of artists to explore different artistic ideas in different artistic forms.

Initially it was a chaotic reation to a newly industrialized world gone mad, which was preoccupied with experimenting with new means of death and destruction. It was a scream against the absurdity of war.

Art has always been a good harbinger of the times. A shot across the bow of normalcy and complacency.

Dadaism helped artists of the early 20th century to express and come to terms with the new world order of the day - just as new artists are trying to find a way to reach today's art savvy public.

Your fiance may be simply trying to reach out to you - do not fear what you do not understand. If you appreciate her, try to understand what she is trying to communicate/share with you.
