Years ago when we had AOL they conflicted since AOL *is* IE for al intents and purposes. Use Netscape and it will work fine on AOL's connections.

Latest news rumor last night: AOL and MS discussing possible merger

      hi MrBrian, try this.

dial up to aol let it connect
      open internet explorer
      click tools
      click internet options
      click connections tab
check "Always dial my default connection"
      click apply then click okay

try it. it worked for me.

They don't want you just straight away browsing the web...cuz then you miss all the spam they force feed ya when you log in.

Only a total internet newbie would actually rather look at sales pitches then come out here on the web and ...er, look at OUR sales pitches! *lol* ..But, you know what I mean..

So, yes, it is on purpose...

Microsoft used to pull some tricks too..like making the browser not be able to download more then 11 megs at time...when the Netscape Browser was 11.7 ...You'ld be on your 14.4 modem, watching a 5 hour download..then it would just go "BEEP" and stop ...*lol* Just as it was getting closed to finish...used to make me almost want to weep.

AOL sucked way back when...it sucks more now.

Microsoft will always suck the most!

If you put two suckers together, do you get better head? NOT in this case...

these two sucks will make a fuck..as in...they will fuck YOU hard...if they ever merge..

Ughhh! Bush will prob try and let those two idiots merge tho. He's already sending people 'from our large corporations' to Russia to help set themselves up. No mention made of helping the smaller companies go do the same. He made a statement that he himself had been a 'small' company. Well that was true after he killed it. lol

you dont think aol and ms are in bed together? haha

aol signed a 10 year deal to use IE as the main browser. then bought netscape. then let netscape die...

i never get spam from my cable modem account. i wonder whats with aol...
