In IE go to Tools>Internet Options

Somewhere in there I think. Its been so long since I used popup and spyware riddled IE.

thats what I am trying to check to make sure a pop up I have for an exit works

or you could go to control panel and remove or delete firefox and that automatically set your ie as the default browser.

Open IE: Tools->Internet Options->Programs
Check "IE should check to see whether it's the default browser".
Close IE.
Reopen IE.
Click Yes.
