MAC users - Need video help!

I just got an email from one of our members saying that some of our mpeg videos are not working with QT in Mac OSX. The error message says "Not a file QT understands".

What could cause this? Also, what windows based sofware should I be using to make MPEGS that will work on both platforms?

i use Ulead Media Studio Pro to edit and encode all my stuff - no problems with Mac Users so far...

My wife encoded and edits with final cut pro with Compressor. No issues playing on mac or windows machines.

The User needs to download a newer version of QuickTime - the problem is on his end.
