    No way. Really?

    PHP hands down for me.

    .

ALL Domains and Websites are GOING AWAY NOW! Ask me!
    Many great domains, mainstream and adult, some complete sites with databases, some names with traffic and PR, some investment quality names. Come take a look! { Traffic Orders: Please go here }

Both have their advantages. Personally, PHP is great for any kind of small script/project, etc. It's cheap to write, cheap to host, and known by much more people.

.NET however is something that can be a little more complicated. I'd use it if I had any huge site running that needed to maintain many databases and other stuff going on. It can be more expensive to host as well.

PHP is great for almost everything, but if you have something very large and plan on using it for a long time, I'd consider .NET.

All my sites use PHP but I had some programmers trying to convince me to switch to ASP. I figured PHP was/is better, just wanted to get some feedback.

The right tool for the right job / infrastructure / situation

If you have a bunch of unix / linux servers running apache, then PHP.
If you're NT based and you have a bunch of PHP programmers - then PHP
If you're NT based and you have a bunch of ASP / .NET programmers - then ASP
If you're unix / linux based and need connection pooling to databases, session management, etc - Java
              blah blah blah

granted, i'm kind of making that shit up, but you get the idea
              Your post count means nothing.

You're going to get some Windows Sluts that tell you that asp.net is better....
The truth is....Its slower, more unefficient and more prone to crash than php/linux system. If any programmer tells you to use asp.net they either 1) Were trained in asp.net/windows server and not so much in php/linux or 2) The one legit reason to use asp.net....they are using it to communicate with visual basic.

php is a great web language... and you can do just about anything with it

asp.net is a great framework... emphasis on framework... it provides so much more than just a programming language..currently there are over 25 languages that are .net compatable... so its not really a good comparison to compare php with asp.net... different things really
