Help with win 2000 adv. server?

I have been trying and nothing seems to work.. i cant seem to download the script/software needed in order to enter msn chat rooms. It just tells me to go through there bs steps and still doesnt work. I deleted everything out of the temp, and cookie folders.. I have also tried upgrading from IE 5.5 to 6 but it says it wont continue installation because there is already and installation in progress? If anyone has any remedy to this situation please let me know. thank you.

There should be a way to check through what you have download and previous downloads/installations to clean them out or restart them.

With windows, one has to always keep "format c:" option in mind, very often it is the only way to fix problems. It's a huge pain in the ass, but your computer will run like new after you reinstall everything, and might as well get windows xp at the same time. I pretty sure you can't upgrade adv. server to xp anyway.

But anyway, some people on IRC in windows channels may be more familiar with this.

              Friend,

Yeah, I second this. Win 2k Adv is NOT an OS that should be used to de stuff like "chat" and stuff like that. It's made to manage multiple domains and server farms. If you're running your servers off of it, then get yourself another PC and use that as your console. Don't EVER mess around with a real server by installing stuff like MSN Messenger, winamp, kazaa, all that stuff. It's called Server.

If you bought this OS to use on your home machine, then you should've looked into it first. Advanced doesn't mean it'll work better at home. Advanced has a lot of problems for end-user stuff. It doesn't even support all the same video cards that Win2k workstation or server supports. If you got this as a pirated copy (most likely) then you shouldn't have a problem getting XP like Woj suggested and install this for home use.

You know Teen Kelly converts like crazy.

Well I would really like to install XP but XP is a resource hog and honestly if you have ever used 2k adv. you would most likely love it. I have never had any problems up until this point. Yes it doesnt support every video card on the planet but I do not use it to play games or watch videos. I also do not use it to run any kind of server but again there are many other features I do use such as its easy capabilities to network. Anyhow thank you for your "suggestions".
