    FTP help, please!

    I can't change permissions on some of my files...I can't figure out why!
    Anyone have any ideas?

    Did you upload the files or were they uploaded by someone else? that might be the reason if there not your files

      I uploaded them..only one other person has access to my account, and it's only for her domain. Everytime I try I get an "operation not permitted" message.

        Contact your host and make sure your username is allowed to modify files

            Maybe try a different client.
            SmartFTP is good and free.
            What do you use?

                Only makes sense if you don't have proper permission or that the files were created by "nobody" (such as the output of a script). Try this php file.

                <?php
                exec('chmod 666 /home/account/domain.com/your.html');
                ?>

                    Apparently the component I installed used a username that isn't mine, so that was the problem...
                    my host, RCN (in my sig) responded to my request for help damn near immediately and fixed it for me.
