The best baseball players in the world play MLB in the USA.
If you have a dream to play pro baseball and you are from russia, your dream is to play in the US.

organized baseball in other countries can't compete... sometimes due to the fact that their best players are playing here.
The best players from all over the world are represented in the world series.

it truely is a World Series and I love the game.

The same reason the basketball champs are called World Champs.
Because any person from any country can play in our leagues

alas another easy coast into postseason for us Braves fans (only to be disappointed again when they blow it ;))

I'm glad this season is going on....it's been exciting as hell, low budget clubs like the A's and Twins kicking major ass, Seattle, Angels and A's fighting it out...Bonds hitting his 600th, Sosa on pace for his 500th, then out with injury....watching young guys like Mulder, Zito, Hinske, Sorriano, Prior, Hunter, Tejeda and Pujols putting on superstar displays...."old timers" like Clemens, Glavine, Shilling, Johnson, Smoltz and Gagne pitching their asses off....pure excitement...

I always hated when baseball got chopped into "highlight reels"....as much as I love watching Andruw Jones and Torii Hunter making insane dives to catch balls no one else would even be able to get to or watching Bonds, Sosa and Giambi pounding baseballs into the upper decks, I love to watch a guy like Greg Maddux adjust with every pitch and just carve a hitter up...I remember watching Tony Gwynn foul off 3-4 balls just to get the pitch he wanted and could hit the ball almost anywhere he wanted to...you don't get that from a 5 second highlight clip and you don't get that from any other major sport...baseball isn't just about action, muscle and nonstop movement, it's about finesse and outthinking your opponent...

despite all of the problems with the game and Bud Selig, who makes multi-millions per year and still get his haircut my a blind epileptic barber at Supercuts, I love the game of baseball...whether it's a pickup game of stickball, a couple little leagures swinging as hard as they can just in case or a couple millionaires taking each other out on a hard slide into second...I love the game....

Playoff baseball is very intense. Met games in Sept are a waste of time. Tiger games in April are a waste of time, too. Depends on how the clubs are doing, and if there is any point in that game (for the standings)

its called the 'world series' because of all the players they import from nearly every damn asian/south american country so the owners can pay them for cheap, take the money for themselves & run

They have great players, but I believe the rules in their countries prohibit players coming to the US until they have completed a certain number of years in Japan. Ichiro had to wait 7 years I believe, and in China, forget about it. You have to negotiate with the government to get a player, much like the Rockets did to draft Yao Ming to play center. What a joke.
