DC or MARVEL comics? WHY?

BAtman is th edark knight in the 80's and such which I think is DC's best title....But Marvel had Stan Lee who is like the Hugh Hefner of the comic world and artists like John Buschema and I think its fair to say he rallied past his predesessors successfully....lets not forget Conan, Spiderman, Wolverine, Daredevil (fuck the movie), Electra (fuck the movie), X-men and the whole mutant thing on earth, Punisher (once again havent seen this one...but I hear its another fuck the movie)....
Imean if you were deserted on a island with comics to read would you choose DC or Marvel....Marvel for me

DC, Marvel never carried a story to well. Often they were to much flash and not enough context.
Both had great titles though, just often not the most popular of the companies lines.

i used to really love dc, but lately i've felt they're dropping the ball. they keep closing shop on their characters, rewriting them, and starting them over. could i choose to be marooned with older dc comics?

marvel rarely resets their characters, and i appreciate that.

actually i do like archie, too - but mostly get digests to conserve space...

Dream on. They've fucked that idea up already. The Silver Surfer got sold off as a separate property a while back. They've already fucked up the origin of the Fantastic Four already so I doubt the movie will capture the power and spirit of the classic comics.

That's the problem with Hollywood, when they do not change the origins the movies skyrocket. When they do change the origins they bomb at the box office.

Hollywood is soooo gay it's almost an axiom.

personaly i allways was a big fan of Dc, Marvel, Supreme, Image!!, Archie...

but it depends on my personal mood.. when i'm depressed i like image/dc brings out the "good" feeling.

for fun and lighthearted episodes i would go with marvel.

When I was into comics in the 90s Dark Horse was kicking ass all over the place. Ghost was probably one of the only "bad girl" comics to ever be written.

Between DC and Marvel though, I like DCs darker themes and stuff, but Marvel's character designs are way better. Batman kicks ass and all, but there's only a couple more DC characters that are really interesting...where as Marvel has a ton.

I read spiderman religiously, it was great trying to follow story lines from amazing to spectacular to SPiderman and back again, remember when they did the red, blue yellow and black covers in all 4 titles and you had to buy them all for 10 each. fuck.

Vampi!!! I remember when she had her own magazine back in the 70's. Friggin' rocked! She had THE baddest assed poster in pinup history too. I think it was painted by Sanjulian.

My pal Lou drew her comic book for a while. Don't know what happened to Vampi. Haven't read any comics in years. Only thing I read now are old Legion comic books, my own comic books and of course, Archie, Josie comics.

My brain can't take today's comics.
