Candid Hosting

I'm thinking about switching from my dedicated server at CIHOST to CANDID HOSTING... I've been having a nightmare at CIHOST... They have "redundant" OC1, T3 connections but my server is offline 15-30 mins almost every other day!

Does anyone here host with CANDID, and what are your experiences?

I am with Candid and they have great 24/7 tech support even at 4am. There servers are excellent, prices are good and they are very well connected to major backbones. The only thing I have found is in the last 6 months (I've been with them 2+ years) they've had a bunch of unexplained outages and the same 10-15 minutes of downtime you were talking about.

Would I recommend going to them? Yes and no. For me, minus the odd hiccup they are the best host I've ever dealt with. But I haven't tried others. Lots of people say Likewhoa is good, so give them a try.

My god, how can you afford to host adult sites with them? I used to have a dedicated with a mainstream site, and apparently the site that I sold still hosts with them...

Candid is good, I can recommend phatservers, isprime, datahosters, personally. All great service with them.

How the fuck can people recommend candid.......I have servers
hosted with them.....and pay good attention now....you can save
yourself some trouble...

12 I repeat 12 downtimes since may 2002. And some of them
lasted HOURS.....those are NETWORK outages NOT server problems
I haven't counted those my friend.

Oh and yes they GARANTEE 99.9% uptime....except when they
are down.....Excuses? 6 power dips, renovation of the NOC,
backbone provider down......Really weird for a provider that
claims to host all the big boys to just have 1 backbone provider.

Broken routers.....also really weird to have single point of failures
in a network, etc, etc.

I wish I could you tell you different. I'm a customer and these
are the hard facts

Those are the outages I was talking about. However... other hosts have similar ones and Candid is very professional from my experience with them.

I have 1 server at candid hosting. They offer good customer service and great reates.

I haven't heard any complaints from people on their network...
I would certainly recommend them, and do on a daily basis.

I have 3 servers with mach10hosting.com . I have more servers here as I get a lot quicker response times and have NEVER had a problem with my servers.
