x box chips

What's the deal with them? Can I do it myself, how long will it take me to learn what I need to know about them, hook me up with the skinny people :D

I just got an x-box for the sole purpose of playing halo2 via system link (we'll have three boxes and tvs now DIE BITCH DIE!!!) but I figure.. since I got the damn thing, might as well trick it out :D

Get the Xecuter 3 and the no solder add-on (unless you have a steady hand and are good with solder) and you'll be set.

one of my friends did the softmod (no chip) and it's working fine..

I got the DuoX2 chip a year ago.... thumbs up!

if you are going to play online games (halo2) you need a non modded xbox

There have been some ways around it... installing a switch to disable the mod chip is the best that i have seen....

though if you use a pogo pin installation...its pretty easy to unplug

I like softmod but in my opinion its so much easier to just plug in a solderless chip. Either way is fine really. But yeah, I installed a switch on my chip. Just used a dremel to cut a bit of the back of the case away and installed. It works fine.

I have the Xecuter 2.3 with an external mod chip. All i have to do is disable it with the older games, with games like halo 2 i have to put in my original hd.
