Search Engine Optimization Question

Everyone's favorite topic. Right... Figured I'd get specific instead heaping something onto a 130 post thread bash.

OK, here it is: Why do so many gallery pages use graphics for their text when it's clear from my reading on SEO that relevant keyword text is so important*.

For example: http://www.wifeysworld.biz/FREE-MOVI...sertHummer.htm, has all graphics**.

Aren't gallery pages, since we create so many of them, (at least some of us do), a great opportunity to write some key wordy shit that gets linked up on a bunch of TGPS?

A side question, getting way off topic. Any one have any opinions on the etiquette of affiliates registering the .biz version of the sponsor's URL? If you view the source HTML of my example you'll see there's an affiliate tracking code, which I would assume means that Wifeysworld "Enterprises" doesn't own their .biz domain.

*Assuming what I've read is accurate.

hehe, its all about getting your TGP page accepted, and if you start slapping all kinds of stupid text crap up and trying to make someone read, who is not going to read, you aint gonna convert him, and he aint even gonna see it.

So it's outright useless, dumb, waste of time, to put keywordy text into a gallery page b/c.....

1) Search engines won't see it, or
2) They'll see it but it doesn't help you in the same way that keywordy text does when it exists on your paysite.

Any permanent gallery should be optimized for search engines .
SE traffic is good traffic , why risk losing potential traffic ?

Noone said you can't, just say it isnt cared for nor intended to be created that way...
I'd like to see someone tell a designer when ordering 150 galleries, make them SEO, what the fuck does a designer know aboubt SEO? Your Lucky if you can get him to clean up the crap dreamweaver code...

If you wanna waste your time, then help yourself, but start adding a full page of text and don't expect many tgp's with good traffic listing your gallery.

I'll have to say that my best guess before posting was confirmed by machinegunkelly. That seems about right. Perhaps I should have qualified my question and specified the words "permanent gallery pages". Also, I'm not talking about writing a novel on the gallery page, just using as much real text as possible.

Monster.com has the word "job" 8 times in real text (not counting the graphic) in either just plain text or as a text hyperlink. I'm not sure what BCyber's point is.

Making a gallery somewhat SE frinedly is not a bad idea. But it will ever rank in the top of the listings. So you wont get that much traffic,
