most likely for the same reason you can't open up your current xbox and drop in a hard drive filled with games: the system won't recognize/read it.

Yes you can. I have a 250gb hard drive in my xbox. A year after xbox 2 comes out I'm sure we will be able to hack the shit out of it too.

Yeah, I know. I forgot to mention mods. I meant straight out of the box, you can't just drop in a new HD and play off it.

My own XBox is modded with a 120 GB drive, so I'm not totally clueless

If you XBOXers want a game machine with a ahrd rive may I suggest USING THE ONE YOU ARE ON NOW. I find it funny poele paid $200+ for an XBox god know how much more "moding" it up just so it can act like a computer which they already have and that is 10X better than an XBOX.

I know you can run emulators on the PC too, but using the dual analog sticks on the Xbox controller is a lot better than dicking around with a keyboard when you are trying to play Robotron or something like that.
