    wiretransfer question

How do you track a lost wiretransfer? Is there some kind of trackingcode to provide the bank to see where in the system it is? Its an incoming wire to myself, and its in the system (I know that for 100%), and I know the amount and where it was wired from. The bank can't see the wire in the system. Anyone ever had any simular problems? First time it happens, and I´ve had hundreds of wiretransfers and they ALWAYS reach me within 24h.

You will need to call the originating bank with the wire transfer transaction/id number.

yeah they can do a trace, takes up to 2 weeks though if its as far as AU-USA for instance... most banks charge 30-50 for that.

bump cause i am having the same problem right now... 16 days delay, i called my bank and they told me they can do nothing without a written verification sent directly from the bank that the wire was sent from... what steps should i take now ? i received many wires before without any problems, this is the first time i am experiencing this kind of delay...

originating bank has to initiate the tracking . . . it is on the sender, not you
