she wasn't put out either. They freeze it so you feel nothing, and then you are puffed up for a few days.. you will have to have soup for a while. but its really not that bad.

Had the upper right one pulled last year. Barely felt the novocaine shot and only felt the pressure of the dentist working on it but no pain. I took the gauze out when I got home and it wasn't bleeding and didn't hurt when the novocaine wore off. The next day the gap had mostly filled in. I was just careful not to chew on that side for a few days. You'll be glad to get them out.

since when do they put you out? my roots were curved in, so they drilled a hole in each one, then put in a corkscrew type thing and twisted till each tooth broke off, then went in and cut the roots out. I was awake through the entire thing. They did that for all four wisdom teeth.

My roots had grown to long... one had grown up and into my sinus, causing a migraine that lasted for one full year. Finally they had it pulled and it HURT like you wouldn't believe.

So for the others, they said if you pay an extra fee, they'd put you under so you pass out, wake up and the teeth are gone.

I much prefered that.

they did that with 2 actually. Now that i remember, i had the first 2 removed when i was much younger. My mom took me to the circus after the appointment. I remember her calling out to me with a horrified look on her face telling me to wipe my mouth quickly then telling me we need to go. I wiped my mouth and my hand was covered in blood. I was still bleeding from both sides and the blood was running down both sides of my face but i was too numb to feel it.

Some people have pain, not all. Also, your gums will likely swell up a bit so be careful with what you eat, no nachos or anything hard like that.

Ouch! getting wisdom teeth pulled is never fun experiance.
if they are not impacted your recovery wont be too bad at all.

They gave me a local morphine injection, and then they gassed me with nitrous so that I wouldn't give a shit that my dentist was breaking my teeth and extracting them from my skull.

But they gave me a massive dosage prescription of Percocet for the recovery period!

I had a horrible time and was drugged up for over a week. My friend on the other hand was at work the next day.

I was put to sleep when i had all 4 pulled. I don't think it's dagerous because it is not "general anaesthesia" but conscious sedation, it is very very light anaesthesia. But the IV fucken hurt, I HATE needles!

I'd seriously recommend no more than 2, and on the same side. That way if you have a slow recovery you aren't spending a week(+) not being able to chew on either side. Broth really sucks after the 2nd or 3rd day

Mine grew in on an angle and broke the tooth in front. I have to get them out soon and have a root canal to fix the tooth the wisdom teeth grew into.

I've pain so bad it felt like a baseball bat smashed my face. So whatever I feel during the extractions won't bother me
