Tech help: scanner problems - show your tech skills!

For some reason this old ass mustek 1200 III EP scanner reboots my computer halfway through a scan...any ideas? I don't scan content or anything. Just need 1 scan to go through so I can validate my identity online with certain companies.

Uninstall it software and all, then re-install it with the latest drivers.
