    Video Size Question

    A movie that is 640 x 480 should come out to roughly how many megabytes per minute if audio is included?

    How did you get it to be that size?

    -PS: Fan signs *WILL* be posted tomorrow!
    SIG TOO BIG! Maximum 120x60 button and no more than 3 text lines of DEFAULT SIZE and COLOR. Unless your sig is for a GFY top banner sponsor, then you may use a 624x80 instead of a 120x60.

      That depends on if it's streaming, down-loadable, gallery, or members area content.

      My 640x480 down-loadable vids for my members are roughly 5megs per minute.

          Downloadable... I have some great video content all ready I'm looking to compress and upload as the final step to improving the site... any tips on good compression?

              Use Cleaner and experiment with it until you get the desired quality and file size that you are after.

                      not sure what program you're using... but most of them tell you the bit rate when you're about to compress it... it'll tell you exactly how many mb/b/sec/min when you compress/convert at that size and res

                              the DivX codec is not something all your members will have, so be sure to add a link to the free download. Compressing your video using DivX is a great option (we use it as main format with a WMV option also) but make sure your members understand if they don't have the DivX codec installed they won't be able to view the file. Also be sure to add an email where members can contact you if they have problems, because as clear as it may be...some people won't see the info and want to contact you and say the video isn't working. We've had very few problems using DivX, but we have had to point several people to the support page even though it's RIGHT FUCKING THERE next to the video link explaining it all

                                  To use divx legally, it's an expensive option.

                                  I'm sure a lot of people will disagree with me but a lot of people have not sat down with the divx people and their attorney to discuss this.....I have.

                                  They claim that they do not openly license their stuff for use with adult and if you want to legally use it then you will pay a premium for it. Now, this was about 1.5 years ago the last time I talked with them so I suppose something could have changed....But I doubt it.
