    Converting (Serious thread OMG!!)

What makes a design convert? Be it TGP/MGP, paysite, gallery etc. What makes one design convert and another not? Is it the overall layout, color scheme, quality/quanitity of content, day of week, etc...

But really, is there a certain "style" that converts well? Are there ways to tell if something will convert before exposing it to surfers?

            DESIGN DOESNT MATTER

Its offering the surfer easy access to the content and knowing surfers click and putting the link there.

                    Yup.

                    Pertty pictures.
Simple intutive places for users to click.
No annoyances ( popups, confusing navigation, etc ).
                    Plain and simple language.

                    - Basically, GUIDE the users with the most minimal amount of thinking on their part, which requires lots of thinking / planning on yours.

If you're talking about galleries, then design DOES matter (to a point). Most TGP webmasters give better listings to slicker looking galleries, hence more traffic.
