Mysql backup question

mysqldump -u username -ppassword databasename > database.sql

and its -ppassword not -p password like it is with username!

The other option is to run it with replication

to many commands to remember. plus i've never done a manual backup usually do it through phpmyadmin but now i know

why dont you just download the mysql administrator for your windows machine
