How much to program scripts?

I'm just testing the waters to see how much it would cost to program a trade script and a script something like TGP Rotator ( http://www.jmbsoft.com/software/tgpr/ ). Ballpark figure anyone?

It's not a cheap script to have custom made. But then again it is not overly expensive..

I might be interested in making some sort of deal which would include a smallish amount of money and a % of the traffic.. maybe 1.5-2% or something..

Why would I want to give you 1.5 - 2% and cash when I can use a premade one that only takes that amount of traffic? I'm trying to see if it would be cheaper to have scripts made or to purchase pre-existing ones for a planned tgp network. Now, back to my original question........a ballpark figure for the 2 scripts?

It's almost always cheaper to buy premade scripts. You will have a hard time finding anyone that can do it for anything remotely close to premade prices.

I had something simmilar to the TGP rotator built for me, much simpler though. It basically takes txt files in the format:
url | description | thumb
and builds a TGP (text and thumb version) with categories etc, but you have to have the thumbs ready, and upload them manually to your server. It can be integrated with a trade script too.

For TGP rotator clone my guess would be $1500 +, if you find a guy that does good work, but is reasonably priced.

I figured that if you wanted a custom script similar to that one you would probably like the resell rights too. If not you can't really beat the price of the premade scripts.

That's my point. If some programmer codes something for you, the programmer still has the copyright. You are not allowed to give it away or resell it or even use it on any other domain than the one you originally said when you ordered it. That is if you did not buy the rights to do so from the programmer.

I wasn't aware of that. I thought that if I paid for it I could do what I wanted with it. I didn't know the programmer held the rights to it. I want something I can do with as I please and I hold the exclusive rights to.
