Who eats sushi?

i just got sushi a few times this past week and i'm addicted. what are the best kinds to get? i got salmon rolls, california rolls with spicy scallops, and tuna rolls so far. salmon was definitely the best.

what is the difference between rolls and raw nigiri sushi? i saw them on the menu but i havent ordered them yet. the waitresses barely speak english so they arent very helpful.

I eat sushi about 4 times a week. But even better is Japanese candy and soda. If you get a chance, go to a Japanese supermarket and shop around.

Here I like dynamite and california rolls.
In the Nigiri you can't go wrong with just plain sake (salmon) and maguro (tuna).

awww man I love sushi, I used to go to this little place in Phx every day. What a great diet I lost 50 pounds on the skip lunch and have sushi for dinner diet.

I would go into the sushi place every night on the way home from work. Watch the poker shows on the TV and chat with Jon the sushi chef. He would always make extra stuff to try for free. I was his best customer 20 - 30 dollars a day every day. It was fun lost a lot of weight that I had been trying for a few years to get rid of and damn that guy had the best sushi


Now here in Toronto we have best sushi I have had outside of PHX. They are down the street and they deliver! I hope Ellisa doesnt realize that or we are going to be spending a lot on sushi again This place is awesome Taco is the name of the place and it rocks..

Nigiri sushi is a slice of fish (tuna=maguro, yellowtail=hamachi, saba=mackeral, etc), sitting atop vinegared rice.

As opposed to a sushi roll (maki), where there are ingredients inside the rice (not vinegared), for example, negihama is hamachi with green onion slices surrounded by a strip of nori (seaweed) - with some exceptions like California roll which has crab and avocado wrapped with seaweed, and rice on the outside.

Both nigiri and sushi rolls have some wasabi (horseradish) inside (depending on how sadistic your sushi chef is). Generally each person prepares their own mixture of soy sauce and wasabi as well, which they dip their sushi into before gorging on it.

Sashimi on the other hand is just plain ol' raw fish, which you also generally dip in your mix of soy sauce and wasabi.

i guess i'm lucky for being able to get it at good prices. they only charge $2.95 for an order of 6 salmon rolls. i can only eat about 12.

Might go and get a couple of handrolls for lunch. This bar by my office makes the 3's company hand roll, crab, spicy tuna, and tempure shrimp in a hand roll with eel sauce on top.

As far as people eating "sushi" and saying they eat california rolls, that inst sushi, there is NO fish in California rolls.
