around how much code do you think you'll need? just curious. i'd like to get in to perl/code-for-hire. if you're interested in someone not a newbie to perl, but is new to contract programming (i've done other professional programming) shoot me an e-mail, [email protected] .
I usually do custom programming for $35 per hour. Generally serious programmers are about the same price (in the $25-$50 range). I would be suspicious of anyone less or more expensive. Hit me up if you need something done. I should have some time in a week or so.

Basic CGI-like whatever perl code we usually bill @ $40/hr or so.
But, we also do quite a bit of more complex perl and C development, which goes anywhere from $65 to $120/hr. The perl portion of the uber-complex stuff (above me, my business partner another guy take care of it) is usually right around te $65-80/hr range though.
