Webmaster FRAUD CAUGHT - INFO for program owners

I just Banned 3 accounts from pornstardollars.com for fraud (and 1 last period) with these account details below.

This guy is picking 2 sites to signup up under each of his accounts then using the same payment info for both, and putting 90% of his transactions through on the last day of the pay period (03-15-05) all monthly signups, NO TRAILS.

3 Accounts totaling about $2100 in sales, with a payout of about $1000 (300-400 each) was stopped. (chargebacks will surely follow)

This is the only info that kind of matches on the 3 accounts, but look for a hign number of transaction on the last day oif the period, then do a little research and you will come up with what i did. I'm sure he is doing this to other.

That's not true. This guy could have easily initiated the chargeback process already. In that case if the account is refunded then Chris could be hit with the refund as well as the chargeback.

I noticed some strange things on our reports for an account, and our details match that. We refunded the signups and killed the account.

It was almost definitely fraud. Same guy.

what they do is send out CP spam, and use some freehosting site where they rotate among sponsor programs as an affiliate webmaster. they join up to multiple programs and would cycle through them.

the CP seeker is instructed to join a non-CP website, and then email the CP operator their username/pass so they can logon and verify. Once this has been tested, the CP Operator emails the CP seeker with the real CP websites and user/pass.

So if you are able to track a new member signup and see that they only logged in one time, and you have several of these, it is possible that you could be unwittingly used to fund CP.

I have had some paysite owners tell me that it's not that uncommon for a person to join and only logon one time after they joined..... um..ok.....

Yeah, he tried to hit us also... back in 11/2004. Moron actually, fraud alerts caught him within his first hour.

He's right. I handle all of our complaints, whether spam, CP, etc... and I've seen CP sites redirect to sponsor program signup pages. Although I haven't personally seen email instructions such as Brandon references.

Obviously such incidents are reported to the proper authorities.

because i develop/provide all the technology to ASACP and when an ASACP member is found to be taken advantage of, they get contacted.

The FBI was even involved in a sting operation, where the sponsor program kept paying the CP affiliate webmaster in order for the FBI to do their thing.
