Bandwidth management module for the Apache webserver

"Mod_bandwidth" is a module for the Apache webserver that enable the setting of server-wide or per connection bandwidth limits, based on the directory, size of files and remote IP/domain...

anyone have any experience with this?

it's something i am considering, but clearly it would only work on the server hosting the actual content and not stop them from leaching the leased content feeds that are linked from the allowed referrers in the members area, right?

Yes, it won't let you limit the bandwidth used by your users on the leased feeds that are hosted 3rd party, since obviously the apache module can only monitor bandwidth served by the server itself.

As for the other user's suggestion: strongbox can't manage bandwidth served up by a 3rd party either.
