    MPEG compression software - recomendations?

Have started shooting content and am looking for advice from anyone using low end digital video cameras (JVC GR-53 is what I am using) and compressing the MPEG that comes off them..

    Thanks in advance.

We use Vegas for all of our video editing.
SIG TOO BIG! Maximum 120x60 button and no more than 3 text lines of DEFAULT SIZE and COLOR. Unless your sig is for a GFY top banner sponsor, then you may use a 624x80 instead of a 120x60.

        www.tmpgenc.com or www.tmpgenc.net

One is the commercial version, one is the free... I can't remember which.

        I'm a satisfied paying customer.
