For the past several days I cannot open my windows folders or ANY folder on my computer for that matter but I can open files, I have no idea what is going on! Has anyone had this problem and have a possible solution?

Could the spyware/adware actually do that? and what program would take care of that?

try opening your folders from MyComputer, if it doesn't work try Explorer, if it doesn't work download Explorer substitute (Check Download.com for one) and try again

                    download it here

                    see screenshots here

It's a program similar to Windows Explorer, just download it and see how everything works....
