Cold sore is in your bloodstream (as is all herpeses), so it might break out at any part of your lip (face for that matter, I know a guy who had it in his eyebrow. lol).

Well, it itches like hell. But not like 'scratching' itch, as if you scratch it..it fucking hurts.

It lasts about a week or so, depends a bit. I have 'Aciclovir' gel that I put on it to stop the outbreak. If I put the lotion on as it starts to itch, it never breaks out. I've also used just plain honey, or snapped a twig off my aloe vera plant and rub it on it if I didn't have the lotion. It helps.
