    xp clean install

im trying to do an xp clean install. i booted from cd and i cant make a new partition because theres not enough room, and i cant delete the partition thats on there already because it says the windows cd is using it for temporary files.

whats the best way to do a clean install?

r u sure it's not an upgrade...... u will have to format the drive before installing (fdisk/all) how big is the drive???
SIG TOO BIG! Maximum 120x60 button and no more than 3 text lines of DEFAULT SIZE and COLOR. Unless your sig is for a GFY top banner sponsor, then you may use a 624x80 instead of a 120x60.

When you do the install it asks you what partition to use and supplies an option to delete and recreate the partition. I have done literally hundreds of xp installs just follow the instructions.. If it doesnt offer this than its an upgrade version.

I reread your post.. I have never seen it say its using the disk before you got some fucked up shit.. Best you should use an xp boot floppy with a copy of fdisk and format.. Thats weird shit.
