    Changing Computers, changing ICQ History?

Is there a way to transfer all my ICQ's history to a new computer?
    Please be specific as possible.

    Thanks for your help

Copy it to a floppy from the old computer, and copy it into the same place on the new computer (do a quick chat with history turned on, on the new 'puter, to be sure where it needs to be). They are just files on disk.

If you have the two networked, you can obviously just copy it directly. I'm guessing they aren't networked.

I'm on a mac so I just go this path: system folder - preferences - icq and everything is there.

That's in that icq folder in the preferences.

Backup your message history. To do so please shut down ICQ ('Main' menu button ->Shut Down), now copy all files inside the directory ICQ2002a into a different location on your hard disk. (The '2002a' folder is by default under: C:/Program Files/ICQ2002a).
Run the ICQ Database Converter feature - Aimed to fix problems in your local database which contains your message history and contact list information. While ICQ is shut down, click the 'START' button -> Programs -> ICQ -> ICQ Database Converter.
In the 'ICQ Owner' field choose the ICQ number, in the 'History Options' field choose the history range you wish to keep and click "Next" After the conversion is completed, click the "Done" button.

for versions 2003a and 2003b cope this folder: c:\Program Files\ICQ\2003b (or 2003a) depending on your version. Simple replace them afterwards.

If you are using one of these versions i would reccomend you keep doing so, the new ones suck arse.

Scooter thanks for trying but if you read what you copied for me, this is for this question:
While trying to delete the history of correspondence, I am receiving message code 149.
I want to copy Hostory to a new computer and not delet them.

                    arnette,

                    I tried it, doesn't work

basically, if you are just going to use the same version of icq you can copy the WHOLE icq directory, install icq on the new machine and overwrite the entire folder...i have done it before, works fine

It works just the opposite.. first install icq on the new pc then copy the whole icq directory file from your computer to the new one thus overwriting the default one.
