    Whats the best image compression program?

    Aside from Adobe Photoshop and Adobe image ready whats another good program that can compress an images file size small and still keep nice quality?

        Macromedia Fireworks compresses much better than Photoshop!
        Remember Photoshop was made for print not web.

            BoxTop ProJPEG is a good plug-in. I don't think it works with Photoshop 7 yet, but I could be mistaken. GraphicConverter is a shareware utility with great compression.

            If you *do* use Photoshop, do not save as JPEG... Use "Save for Web..." and make a JPEG from there. Much better compression.
