Ambush Interview

starting thinking- and I won't be doing any ambush interviews on sat or sun or major holidays. I'm going to make it a mon-fri normal working day type thing - so check back monday for the next ambush interview.

My suggestion would be to pick one of my designs ;-) See your other thread for my 2 entries. Fast, clean, and fresh. Other than that.. about 4-5 days after an interview is published, I'd create an edited version of the GFY page, where you hand-pick the questions and their answers and post them on your site. This will become a useful archive for any webmaster and will filter all the useless posts people make inside the interview threads.

Thing is, at some point you will run out of people. I wouldn't waste the first few days on all the hot shots.. Make us want more. I'd also ask more questions. This is an opportunity to create a massive DB of Q&As from most players - take advantage of it. Ask a bunch of initial questions and "surprise" the person with another bunch in the middle of the day.

There aren't enough interesting people to fill ~ 240 interviews. I'd make it 3 interviews a week. AND, I'd accept questions from the public that they would like to ask a person on the "Upcoming Ambushes" list. This will make it more interesting. Say I see Lensman is on the list and will probably be "ambushed" sometime this month, I'd go ahead and submit a question or two. Sleazy will then use that list when compiling the initial questions list. This way even the less-hotshot people will be asked descent questions from THOSE WHO KNOW THEM

Right, but you can keep the traffic coming to your site by having that type of system in place. Webmasters will check your site often to see who made it to the "upcoming" list so they can start thinking and submitting questions just in case they miss the "window of opportunity" to ask questions while the thread is active.

Mixing it up with people from different segments of the industry is a good Idea, and so is starting a site with the compilation of all the interwiews

I can vouch for the sanity of this. It sucks to do something for fun only to have it turn into work. It makes you resent having to do it instead of enjoying it.

its why i WILL run advertising on it - just to help justify in my mind doing the work behind it - even i just use that money to have fun with at conventions.

example - adult.com alone has Lensman, Eric, Spanno, Reddd, Tobby, Tools, Loryn, just off the top of my head - there are dozens of companies out there with this many people to interview plus all the single site people and other support industries.

and in 2 years there's a whole new crop of people too - i'll NEVER run out of interesting people to interview doing only 20 a month.

Have to agree again with Porn_Ref, a "suggestion" section would rock.
Like many around here, who have vaild things to ask or say ... we're not allways on the board when these threads get started.

People can create user accounts, and submit their questions for future people on the list(which can be chopped down, and then passed on).

But as you know, the list of things that "can" be done will go on and on. So Would suck to take the fun out of this project, by making it another "task". So i'm just going to shut up here, GL to you and looking foward to see how it turns out.

If you have all the interviews with some of the most succeful guys in this industry that will make an excellent reading. Having such an excellent reading on your site will attract lots of webmasters. Having lots of webmasters visiting your site = $$$$. Do I make sence? No? If you have single digit IQs I can't really help you, can I?
