    Does this Image Compressor EXIST?!?

    I need a program that will search through specific directories eg my member area and condense the pictures to the smallest possible size while keeping the SAME quality - are there any programs like this available?

      I think you should be able to do that from the command line with imagemagick or with gd library, but I don't know exactly how.

      If no one replies, try searching google for "imagemagick" and whatever it is you want to do.

        It wont search but it will automate the process with pre-defined settings. Unless all images have about the same initial quality expect varying results from any auto compress proggy.

          xat is definatley the go.

          You can set up a custom compression table so it will compresse images that are less compressed originally more. (Does that even make sense).

          It will also mark which images it has looked at so it doesnt look at them again.

          It isnt cheap though.
