I run at 1280x1024, but my browser windows are all around 700x800... Full screening a browser is an extreme waste of desktop space if you're trying to get work done.

I haven't used 800x600 for several years. If you use 800x600 you must often scroll widthways or am I wrong?

I am just building interesting site for adult webmasters and it seems that I'll optimize for 1024x768...

That's not true anymore, after the flatscreens came down in price more than 60% of the users have 1024x768 or more.
