Cable modem all the way !! I'm amazed though, how so many of you don't have it in your area. I live way the hell up in Upper Michigan, NO, not the upper part of Lower Michigan, I'm up in the little chunk of land up above that, he he he.

The closest city to us is Green Bay, which is 4 hours away from here and I've had cable modem access for the last 2 years. Talk about a remote area with great technology, he he he.

I was till July 2000 dialing with 28.8 kbps since 1996. Working as webmaster since 1997.
Now I have ADSL (256kbps). I work at home, but this or next month I'll be moving to a office, will be there most of my time, so I'll transfer the ADSL to there. We're just waiting the phone line to be instaled and buy the office furniture. So when I need to access from home next month, I'll be using my notebook with his 56.6 modem.

I am on 56k and I hate it......... I was told when I moved here that cable would be here in March of 2001 and called them yesterday and they say now it will be early 2002.... I CANNOT go another freaking 7 months on dialup after working on Cable where I was........

They have dsl here now, it just got here a couple of weeks ago.... it's BellSouth's dsl...... anyone have any experiences with this?

I live in a rural area. And they dont offer cable net here. They do offer DSL, but for $200 for installation and $50 a month, FUCK THAT!!! lol

I'll wait until DSL costs less. Maybe next year.

I had Bellsouth DSL and it was really fast -- although their billing department is on crack. I had a lot of problems w/ their billing dept. Their employees are total morons.

You can bump the download time up drasticly

I pay $50 for 256kbps ADSL. I found that the telecom company started to sell ADSL in my girlfriend city too, will try to install there. But there is $70 and $100 for the instalation.

Its one of the reasons I stopped using TGP's - was taking me all day to load the quality images, got fed up with counting the flowers on the wallpaper.
