I really do dislike Macs; I mean, I really do? with one exception? Final Cut Pro on the Mac, that?s alright.

It is a license issue. Macromedia has a very tight licensing issue going on, if you check the online user forums there is a patch that might work.

I have a solution, buy the software, you may find it installs just fine.

          Don't reply. Let it die.

It sounds like you downloaded an .exe file. Macintosh can't run .exe files.

the file has no extension.... it's called "Macromedia Studio MX Installer" and is a binary file.

I tried to run it in the terminal, but it wont let me. :-(

Why don't you just double click it in the gui? Why are you using terminal? Make sure you downloaded the Mac installer and not the PC installer. It shouldn't be that hard...

bummer, sorry man, i've had install problems with my mac before, but it's usually because of what everyone else here is saying, it's a program meant for a pc download. i just end up googling for a different version of it or asking a mac-friend if they've got a copy i can burn and find the serial # online...not that i'd condone pirating software or anything...

select the file in finder, press Apple+I, the information panel should pop up.
expand the second arrow, there must be the 'real' name of the file with its extension.
                                  Post the info here

that is the info I pulled off the file. Sorry, I am a little lost still. ;-)

actually I take that back, it's not a .dmg file... I made that up and changed it myself when trying to fuck around with it to get it to work.

One other file is a "Unix Executable File"... goddamn shit. I'll just probably buy the software.

in the get info box, go to Open With and seleect 'DiskImageMounter'.. if that doesn't work your file might be corrupted
