      Is the option to turn it off not working for you? Go into User Control Panel and on the left click Edit Options, then scroll down to Default Thread Subscription Mode and change your preference.

          It was a statement, "Instant" notif is annoying. Once I realized they changed it to Instant Notif, I changed my pref to "Do Not Subscribe", but was pointing out that the default values like to suckle on hairy donkey balls. I don't mind daily notifs, but instant is obnoxious.
