I like Dell, but the inhome repair is a MUST! other than that it gets maild back to dell and that takes a long time.

I got the mail in warrenty. I have never had it take more then 4 days to get my laptop back.

Its been fixed because my monitor broke and my keyboard had a problem once. Basic normal wear. They even replaced my motherboard once because they said the bios could not be updated.

Right after I called dell on a friday about 2pm they had Airborne Express at my door in 45 minutes. I had my computer back by Monday morning. I was amazed, I didnt think I would see it for another week. I didnt pay the $80 in shipping either.

They get 2 thumbs up from me!

I'm on my 2nd Dell laptop - love it! I've never had the extended warranty though.

Most laptops are made of all the same parts, and they simply put a Dell badge on it. Go to a good shop and they will be able to find you a good deal on an 'Intel Wide' box. Basically exact same specs, parts, warranty, etc but without the Dell badge.

You might want to check out some of the flyers they send out. Or call them directly. When I ordered my first comp from them they threw in some extra stuff like an upgraded video card and monitor.
