Went out looking at xmas lights, so tried to figure out this camera's "night" setting.

Looks rather good. You were not using a trypod right ? If not thats really good. Rather fast exposure.

I haven't put up my house lights this year as I am in a stupid apartment but next year ill be in a great house and plan on going all out....

nah, it is about 10 houses . . . I don't do decorations . . . there is a neighborhood not too far from me where they have about 10 square blocks where every home is decorated to the hilt.
