Help Me Please!!!!

Ok, on my main computer, i downloaded software, installed it, rebooted. On reboot, it came up with message Updating system configuration, etc

Anyway, it seems to hang there and i cant get into computer. safe mode goes back to the same message, i cant get in.

Any help?

if you can't get in at all you can't use their little system restore dealy. the only thing i can think is booting off a bootdisk and trying that registry thing

copy user.dat user.bak
copy user.da0 user.dat
copy system.dat system.bak
copy system.da0 system.dat

in the windows directory.

note, i have no clue if this works anymore, how "spot on" it is, and if it's even available in winME.

No kidding, it just amazes me that i would have to format or something because of this shit. Fortunately, all my work stuff is on a seperate hard drive, but my icq list, emails and shit like that is all on the main drive. ugh

off of that....i've been there, and ended
up wiping 2 years worth of work as well, not
fun...one thing to think about.


if you have another disk that you don't
care about, but works, pull the old one
out, install new os on new disk, put
other disk in as secondary, copy data you
want to keep, then switch and reinstall,
just make sure you don't select the 2nd
disk for format....

and run 2k or even xp. unless you game
a lot, then roll it back to 98 SE....t

Why don't you just take the hard drive with the OS and put it in another machine and then just copy the files from that hard drive to the other machine. Once that is done, format the hard drive, install an operating system and copy your files back.

What is the software you installed?
Did you try deleting it manually?

As for a boot disk, just make it on another computer.
