Christ... and to think I get some shit here on the boards for my hosting opinions, etc.
If Level3 had a problem wouldn't the fact that they're multihomed mean they wouldn't be down???
Why is it I'm always hearing about the 100% uptime guarantee in their ads but seeing a post every week around here. I wonder why more current customers don't seem a bit more concerned here on the board.
Shit happens, I'm a host and I know that. However, I don't market having a 100% uptime guarantee - perhaps it's that difference of .001% in the marketing that erks me. I've always been a stickler for details.

...can I hear an 'AMEN!' brutha... that's exactly what I was referring to.
I know that Candid is a good hosting company, there's no question about that. I'd venture to say they are probably better than most.
What bothers me is all of the newbies and people that are inexperienced in picking a hosting company that take a statement like that at face value when they're shopping. I think an important part of being a host is educating your customers what they can realistically expect from time to time... otherwise you're misleading them.
Everyone has occasional downtime due to equipment failure, spilled coffee
etc. Great hosts have very little. Why tell all new customers that they're never going to have any when clearly your company has intermittant problems like what we read about frequently on this board? I'd just like your honest commentary. Your site is crystal clear - 0.00% downtime. What are you doing, rounding 0.004% down?

Must have been one of their weekly power failures and since they
have so many the backup generators ran out of fuel....that´s my
guess.
